The Earthquake Calendar: Day Three

Jenni- One of my heros and a dear friend!
Cathy- if I am Anne, she is my Dianna!

Nurse Clotilde. Very thankful for her care of the six
or so sick little ones (lots of resiratory illness)!

Key Leaders: Madame Valet and Francois.
They are made of steel!

Francois, a dad of three, loves our kids!
Here, he plays with Rebecca. He also played soccer
with Reece and Steeve regularly at the O.

Thursday 1/14
Feed kids oatmeal raison cookies with peanut butter and milk for breakfast. Walk with Francois and Mme. Valet to O; give Francois money for bread at Epid’or, whose back door is open. Michel gives me a ride up Delmas to the O in his truck. Choppers flying constantly. Leave, walk to Meers’, check on Clays, who say they have a two day supply of food, and walk to Quisqueya Chapel- no one there. Meanwhile, Megan visits kids at school, helps Francois transport lunch down to school from O. (Natacha still working- she’s been on duty since Tuesday morning!) Back at QCS, Rich Meers urges us to buy eggs- buy two crates. Prepare dinner of Man ‘n’ cheese, chicken/tuna, and green beans/peas casserole at QCS Snack Shop. Jenni and Cathy help serve meal & get kids to bed. Call Mom on Ben’s phone- leave message. Tonight, put most of the kids in diapers. I am prepared with this speech to give to the older kids: “Now if you make fun of the others wearing diapers, YOU will have to wear them, too!” but the enthusiasm of everyone to wear them makes my speech obsolete.
